What happens to the body of an inmate after the death penalty?

I mean do they give his family the body or do they cremate it or where on earth does it go?

The inmate has to state on a form they are given who will be claiming their body and how they wish their possessions to be disposed of. The own flesh and blood will usually claim the body, but if an inmates body is not claimed after execution he will be buried in the prison grounds and his grave marked with a number.
