I think i want to get a gun?
causes its my second amendment right. ...... what do you all think???
unwell learn how to use it, there is a shoting range surrounded by town.
Good Job and welcome to the world of the free citizen.
Before you purchase a gun go to the gun range and rent several. Find the one that suit you. Gun individuals have their own culture and each shooter will try to convince you that his choice of firearm is the one for you. I like Glocks but as long as you stick near a name brand, all of the modern handguns are well brought-up. Sig, Ruger and Taurus also make high quality handgun.
I personally prefer 9mm as a caliber. You will hear gun people tell you that you want a bigger caliber for knockdown but I feel 9mm is adequate. I like it because it is cheap ample so that you can practice.
Join the NRA; I am a life member. This is important for you as a gun owner. They are a grassroots running that has stood alone in protecting the 2nd Amendment, it would be lost if not for them.
Read a few books; In the Gravest Extreme by Massad Ayoob. Some of the logical information is dated but I like the advice he gives on how to accomplishment post shooting. Sometimes saying the wrong thing after using a gun in self defense could take you sent to the death chamber; very important stuff. Also read More Guns Less Crime by John Lott, it will hand over you excellent information and irrefutable data when defending yourselves against the gun grabbers.
Be safe, practice, practice, practice and have fun!!!
Welcome aboard.
yes i believe we all should bear arms and that is what the constitution say period. but they are trying to change the wording an dthere for its not good. although you do not obligation hand gun i mean its for hunting or whatever if you involve one but the hand guns and automatics are for killing people explicitly what they are worried about and i see it but you hae to be responsibleand use it properly. i think guns are too expensive, especially when you have to buy respectively individual round...
If you want to buy a gun call for your local shooting range or stop by there. They may have some you can try so you can determine what they quality like and how they shoot. Then go to a local gun shop and buy the gun you liked. Be sure to apply near your city/police department for a permit to carry and a safety course. And be sure to practice. Shooting once or twice at a selection is not a good way to keep yourself safe and sound. If you have to pause to remember how to load your gun or how to turn the sanctuary off a criminal isn't going to wait. Well, if you feel you must, a moment ago handle it with safety first
Just remember. You don't shoot to murder, you shoot to stay alive.
Handguns are for concealed carry. That means in a holster, on your character, within access using only one hand. (the other will be busy holding bad an assailant - that's how it happens) They are NOT for carrying under the car seat, contained by the glove compartment, or in a purse.
Pump action shotguns are for home protection. If you ever need it, it will be around 3am and you'll be starting from a nouns sleep. With a shotgun, you might hit your target in case you actually completion up needing to pull the trigger. With a shotgun (instead of a handgun), you are less expected to kill you child in bed in the subsequent room - a handgun round will go through several walls before it's danger is gone - a shotgun blast will simply be good against the first wall or person it hits (or dresser, TV, cabinet) Lastly, the sound of a shotgun shell individual chambered in the dead of night will bring the burglar downstairs to flee and you'll never have to live with having kill anyone.
Protect yourself - we all have that right. Don't endanger others - we all hold that responsibility.
I think it is very sensible for people to own guns, especially women, for self-defense, surrounded by the rare "gravest extreme" situation where one is needed, and also just for discovering the cheeriness of shooting, target shooting or skeet or whatever. I'm a woman and I own several guns. I like target shooting. I have a CCW (concealed get permit) and this enables me to carry a loaded, concealed weapon to defend myself. I stimulate every law-abiding citizen who has any interest in it at all, to own a gun and to find a CCW and be prepared to defend yourself. USE your rights! Don't be one of those referred to by those bumperstickers that say something like "My civil rights are gone? It's okay, I wasn't using them anyway."
Be a pistol-packin' Mama! And read Paxton Quigley's great book, Armed and Female. appropriate call.....see if your local range will rent you a weapon so you can try ou a few different heaters before you buy. Also your selection might offer instruction so you can carry this out safely!
Great, budge for it. I don't know how old you are but be aware that you have to be 21 yrs old to own a handgun and 18 I devise to own a rifle or shotgun in most states.
Guns are enjoyable, nothing approaching them for self-defense, and the more Americans who own them the safer we all are.
John R. Lott wrote a great book, "More Guns, Less Crime." Use the stats from this book to confront all the rabid anti-gunners out there.
If you plan to shoot profoundly, get a 22 rimfire. The ammo is the least expensive, so you won't go broke every time you dance to shoot. FOr self-defense, don't get any caliber less than 38 special, otherwise you could shoot someone several times and not hurt them enough to prevent them still coming at you.
Get one learn how to use it properly and never live in fear.
