Contract Law question?
What is the contract provision which protects the drafter of the contract from liability?
Best Answer:
A waiver of liability? By saying the drafter, do you mean the actual person drafting it, similar to the lawyer, or the entity who is dominant in the situation and presented the contract? I've written my share of contracts, and I cannot exclude myself, as the drafter form liability. Do you mean my client, who I try to product not liable for anything?
There isn't one. I draft contracts all the time. I'm not a party to the contract so I can't insert a clause exempting myself from liability.
