are Jews today not bound to old testement law?
do contemporary Jews believe that the laws of the old testement are still in effect? does this vary from orthodox, reformed, and other sub groups? they don't practice sacrifices or the capitol punishment outlined in the mosaic code.
That varies between Reform, conservative and Orthodox.
sacrifices are not necessary and the practice went out with the destruction of the second temple in 70 CE.
Orthodox Jews still follow the 613 commandments in Torah. At least the ones that are still possible.
what I believe is that the Old Testament Laws went out of effect the second Christ died on the cross. Jews don't, however, and they still follow them, for the most part. See, most of them don't think God' son has been on earth yet. They are still looking for a first apperence.
i am a conservative jew and yes i do keep the laws of the Torah. well the ones that can be keep in modern day
yes this varies from group to group and yes they are bound to old testement law and grace and freedom comes from Jesus
Reform Judiasm and some other modern sects have different belief systems than orthodox or ultra-orthodox.
As to that mosaic code comment, judiasm is a religion in modern times, not a nationality as anti-zionists want people to believe. There has not been sacrifice since the time of the old temple, and capitol punishment is nonsense.
Jesus said that 'every jot and tittle of the law shall be fullfilled.' But then Jesus died at passover as the true passover lamb because the law though good was not perfect and could not save. So the sacrifice was really taken away because Jesus Christ fullfilled the requirements of the passover lamb once for all. So now God no longer requires a sacrifice. Jesus fullfilled it 2000 years ago.
Jesus in Greek means 'save'. Jesus paid the price for your salvation 2000 years ago.
Answers:
sacrifices are not neccesary for the temple is gone for now (the real messiah will see it rebuilt) and jews follow the 613 laws of torah the best that they can. Yes the laws of the torah (the old testiment is christian, not jewish) the tanakh is jewish, correct, and unchanged are still aplicable to all jews.
First of all it's Reform, they aren't in juvie. Sacrifices can only be practiced in the Temple in Jerusalem. It was destroyed in 70 C.E. so there are no provision for nor any sacrifices required. This happened on all the occasions the Jews were taken into captivity or Israel was sacked and when the fist Temple was destroyed, too. See Hosea 13:4. It was always acknowledged that sacrificed could be substituted with prayer.
The do not consider their canon to be an old testament as it is their ONLY testament and has been so for over 3,000 years. Since the reject the New Testament just as Christians reject the Koran or The Book of Mormon or Protestants reject the traditons of the Roman Catholic Church.
Orthodox, or traditional Judaism is the Judaism practiced for centuries, with some difference practice, not belief, itis the historical Judaism. Conservative Judaism is a movement that lies between Reform and Orthodox with more ceremony and observance, and then Reform, which was the first movement to break away from traditonal Judaism in the late 19th Century, which more or less has seen Judaism as a framework of ethical demands and not much else, though the movment is becoming more conservative and spiritual of late.
They follow the ones that are still practical today.
Grace unto you, and peace,
from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
Indeed,
Horeb-bull is common to orthodox & messy-anics.
And such Horeb-bull notably began in 'Arabia'.
Such 'dung' peddling also common among Christians,
Among the RCs, and Protestants, and Independants.
All who sat in Moses' seat: law, are called:
fools, hypocrites, vipers, and blind guides.
Yet those made one proselyte are 'twofold',
and 'more the child of hell(law)' than jews;
which is to say such are Romans 8:2 Law Law,
for Mt 22:36-40 Law Law also clearly notes:
'the second is like unto the first'
meaning 'law' is like unto 'law'.
So 'another law' of many is 'law',
notably having seven 'law' names:

It produces 'evil concupiscence of law.

It also law imputes sin & death unto all.
The 'grace' of our Lord Jesus Christ with you all. Amen.
