Why is prostitution illegal?

Wouldn't we be able to have a lot more control over it if it be legal? We might be able to help stop the spread of disease and hold out excellent job opportunities for people to work in that industry. It is the oldest profession out there.
Best Answer:
It is bent because the people of each state has granted they do not want it to be legal. Prostitution is legal in Nevada as expected, however it is not legal in Las Vegas.
Because the govt has'nt figure out how to tax it.
In most places, it is not illegal. The solicitation that it involves is illegal. As long as money is not discussed since "the act", there is no solicitation, and therefore would not be illegal.
Because people feel the need to detail other people what is right and what is not, even if it does no physical or emotional harm. Granted, associates do and always will use prostitution as an anonymous way to escape marriage, and that can efficiently cause emotional harm, but so can a "normal" affair. And I agree that legalize it would permit 1) greater prevention of disease, and 2) an excellent income source for several types of people. The prostitutes themselves, the healthcare industry, and the government itself (in the form of taxes).
Because that is the way the legislature of the various states and countries have voted. If you want to know why someone voted that way, telephone him/her and ask.
