Employment Question????
I live in California, and I heard that employees are allowed a (paid)15 min. break, if the shift exceeds 5 hrs....true??? or false?? please abet!
First off, DAMN you are cute!!!
Yes, if you work a five hour shift, they are required to give you a 15 minute break. At 8 hours, they are required to provide you with at lowest possible two 15 minute breaks and one 1/2 hour lunch. This can vary depending upon job title though...if youre just working a regular retail charge or something, then this applies.
both, true and false!!!! any break you take whether 15 minutes, 30 minutes, or 1 hours is NOT paid. why would your employer settle up you for taking a break. they essentially would be paying you for standing around doing nothing. businesses are trying to make money, not give money away. but next again, it may vary from place to place. of coarse if you work in a mom and pop shop or a private business, they can set the rules according to what they want. didnt you read your hire paperwork?
