Why is Georgia so strict with laws.?
Well i should say why is georgia strictly enforcing their laws because every state have laws. But it seem here like they do not play around. My room mate have to go to court and pay fines because his car be unregistered and on his property. He doesn't even drive it because he knows it's unregistered. That means DOT came around looking house to house to find expired tag. That's the first time I ever heard of this happening. Do other states do that? I mean it's one article to drive around with expired tags and cops pull you over but to newly be sitting at your home and have a knock on your door by DOT and get a ticket for a car you are not even driving is a short time ago insane. We do live in Atlanta so I guess i guess it's stricter in big cities but I never heard of this stirring in Florida. A lot of times in florida you'll get pulled over for a ruin of some sort and the cops will say get it fixed and that's it. My friend had his motor towed for not having insurance TWO HOUSES away from where he lives. Georgia does not play when it comes to law enforcement. Which is defensible to some degree but damn does the state really need money that bad to donate tickets for every little thing.

Sounds like someone call in your expired tag. Police don't just drive around looking for expired tag. There has to be a reason why they ticketed your roommate other then a moment ago driving by!
Laws such as you referenced are in place to prevent desert cars form being left around creating health and safekeeping issues. Sometimes it is carried too far, but if it appeared abandon or derelict it was probably reported or if it was parked on the street even if it be not being driven it is considered illegal.
I think the police get ticked when the violation are not mistakes. Like driving around without insurance is serious, what if he injured or killed someone? And they have to crack down on culture who load junker cars in their yards. It's best to live inside the rules rather than complain when you get caught.
