Is child support based on hourly wages or does overtime count ?
It is based on your total income from all sources.
ITS BASED ON YOUR MONTHLY INCOME & THE CHILDREN YOU HAVE.
IT SHOULDNT CHANGE BASED ON YOUR HRS WORKED IT SHOULD BE A FIXED MONTHLY RATE.
Answers:
Typically you will be asked to show three consective months of pay. If you have overtime regularly then yes it will be considered based off of the three months.
They will add your pay and your ex's pay together, depending on how many children and they they look at a percent the state determines it costs (based off your combined incomes) for that child/ren. Then they will determine what percent you make and what percent the other parent makes of the combined income, that is how much you will pay of the 'determined' amount the state claims it cost to raise a child.
Obviously the more money that is made the more money they claim it costs to raise a child.
Say your combined income is 4000. a month, they will decided it costs 600.00 a month to raise a child, you make 60% of that 4000. then you will have to pay 360.00 (of the 600.00) for child support.
Hope this helps, good luck
depends on which state you live in. I pay child support in Alaska and I pay for two kids, based on how much I make, 45% of my pay, for two kids.
as far as i know the usually only make you pay one set price each week it doesnt change no matter how much you make!
