My son is in a young offenders and is due to be released next year but his release date falls on a saturday?
can anyone tell me if he will have to wait till the following Monday to attain out?many thanks
No, he will not have to wait. He will be released ON his release date, regardless of the day of the week. Detention services operate 7 days a week. IDK I AVE NETHER BEEN IN YOURTH OFFENDERS
Surely that would have been taken into consideration when they announced his release date. He should be out on the Saturday. Prisons and jail work 24/7. If he's due out on a saturday, that's when he'll be released.
He will get out on Friday.
Prison service does not receive or release on the weekends happend to my nephew if that is release daylight and he is not on parol then its the day before (friday) if he is on parol after it will be the monday unless things have changed.
talk to the prison, or call his probation officer
It may be the case that he has to wait for that within actual prison, but he may possibly get out on the Saturday, seeing as it is a young offenders. If he does hold to wait until the Monday, give him as much support as he needs to serve him. Good luck! Friday they can't keep him longer
He will be released on Saturday or before not after No, he should be out on the Friday. They don't release over the weekend and he could sue for false imprisonment if they kept him until Monday.
friday previously If he was kept in police cells,,1.2.3.or more days this comes of hes release date also please check He could after be home earlier,,,,,,
under English statute, they have to release 'on or before the actual edr (earliest day of release).some prisons operate a seven morning release programme, whilst others keep solely for domestic visits.if this is the case where on earth he is, then by law they must release him on Friday, since holding him till Monday would constitute wrongful imprisonment, unless it is deem 'operationally unsafe/insecure to effect release at this time'.
this is only likely in times of civil unrest or a riot surrounded by the prison itself. hope this helps.my best wishes to your son.
