How do I get past a background check for employment?

About 10years ago I pleaded guilty on a misdeamor charge, I felt I had no other choice at the time, and the DA told me if I took the guilty plea that the charge could be expunged. Well, lol and behold I go to apply for a situation, they due a bacground check and there it is. I get the thank you for your time letter, but skills dont come upon our qualifications. Which is a bunch of BS. I was over qualified, I know that was the pretext, how do I go about getting this taken care bad? I really don't want to have to deal with the court again. Is within any other way to get this expunged? I need to know what to give an account possible employers?
Best Answer:
Who do you think you will own to deal with if not the court. You hold no choice. You need to go to the D.A.'s office and discuss the situation beside them. If the D.A. at the time made you a promise you should have gotten it in writing. If you didn't you could have a problem. But you can't solve the problem on Yahoo you own to go to the D.A.. If you can't get it expunged you need to index it on job applications and explain the circumstances. That way you have a opening of it being accepted.
The requirements for expunging a conviction vary from state to state, so it's rugged to say without knowing where you live. In the meantime, or if you can't attain it expunged, I would recommend being upfront with potential employers, even if an application doesn't ask in the region of misdemeanors. I think they are much more likely to look past it if they aren't surprised by the situation check and if they don't feel you're trying to put anything past them.
Your best bet is to be up front with them and list it on the employment application. Getting a conviction 'expunged' is becoming smaller amount and less effective as the private records furrow companies are pulling from many different databases (and maintaining their own databases). Trivia note; an 'expunged' copy will still show up in NCIS or any Federal records check.
