What is the law regarding US Citizenship when a child is born to a US Citizen Mother, but it is out of the USA?
Is the child a citizen. This is not a question about whether Obama is a natural born citizen. I a short time ago want to know of a child born of a US citizen in another country is considered to be a US citizen. Thanks.

The answer depends on information not supplied. If BOTH parents are US citizens, the child is a citizen. If not , it depends on how long the mother has be a citizen, and if they are a resident of the US. Another factor is WHERE the child is born. If they are born on a US military base, the are legally born in the US.
Yes if one of your parents is an American citizen any child born to them is automatically a US citizen regardless of where they were born.
For persons born on or after November 14, 1986, a person is a U.S. citizen if adjectives of the following are true: 1. One of the person's parents was a U.S. citizen when the person in press was born; 2. The citizen parent lived at least 5 years in the United States back his or her child's birth; 3. A minimum of 2 of these 5 years in the United States were after the citizen parent's 14th birthday.

No, the child will be a citizen of the country it is born in, unless the child is born surrounded by American soil (military installation or consulate).
