How to understand law and ethics?
i need an ez way to understand this class im taking ,something to help me remember all this ,i dont feel like im learning anything at all ,just enough to pass my tests
Your question is very general; what part of the law and ethics are you having problems with?
Some conduct is governed by law/statue.
Some conduct, although not illegal, may be morally wrong.
Some conduct, although morally ambivalent, is illegal.
Does that help?
There is no easy way of understanding the ethics part. The law aspect should be fairly easy, however.
Answers:
Obviously, I can't be too specific since I don't know exactly what you are taking. But if it is for a medical law & ethics class, I will assume it was similar to mine in law school and try to offer a few tips.
Theme one: What should law prohibit? Clearly unethical conduct (yes), questionable ethical conduct (medicinal marijuana, abortion)(answer here depends on the individual, but come up with good reasons to support why/why not). Also note that the law sometimes prohibits activties that are not unethical and be able to say why it does so.
Theme Two: Who's ethics matter on the question above. Scientists? Doctors? Average Citizens? The best answer, again, depends on the exact conduct at issue.
Hope this helps..
